Goodbye Old Cam

Sherwin has been bugging me for a long time to get him a DSLR but I kept saying no. First, we already have a digital camera and second, DSLRs are expensive. However, after seeing Sandy's photos from my friend's cam, we decided to get our own Canon 350D. It's worth it! I just love taking Sandy's pictures even if it's a bit heavy, LOL. I love this new cam because I can take nice photos even without the flash. I'm not a professional photograper though so don't expect spectacular shots. In my eyes however, any photo that has Sandy in it is already a work of art bwahaha.

First out of town trip

Last weekend, we decided to go to Tagaytay so Sandy can have her first out of town trip. It was a long overdue vacation for us as well. We asked her Ninong Zer and some of Sherwin's college friends to come with us. Sandy wanted to stand the entire trip, nursing occassionaly to recharge. I know I'm not supposed to let her stand yet but it's so hard not to especially if that's the only thing that makes her happy at the moment hehe.

I made sure that we visit Caleruega and Sonya's garden. A friend's wedding was held there but I wasn't able to come because I just gave birth that time. Sandy saw a lot of butterflies, birds, flowers and insects so she's all alert and active the whole day. She saw her other ninongs (Sherwin's friends) and played with Duane. It was one of those rare moments that she has a playmate.

I thought we'll have a hard time putting her to bed but she seems to like the weather because she slept through the night. It was very tiring for me though coz she doesn't want to leave mommy's side. She wants no one but me to carry her so it wasn't really a vacation for me.

Still, it was a successful out of town trip!

what a wonderful world

I always see the question "what is happiness to you?" being asked over and over again. I won't pretend that the first thing that comes to mind is money. Tons of it.

At night though, when I'm lying in bed and sleep won't come easily, I see these two sleeping figures beside me.

THIS, is happiness.



Seeing my husband holding our daughter. Or just hearing their quiet snores (LOUD in my husband's case.)

I never thought I could ever love anyone as much as I loved my husband. But I did. I love our daughter very much. And I know her father will absolutely do everything in his power to make her happy. I'm so blessed to have them.

Sitting, Two front teeth, Playing guitar

Sandy can sit on her own! We bought her this bumbo seat to train her and after using it for 5 days, she decided she wanted to sit on her own.

Her two lower front teeth are now visible too. It has been giving me headaches for 4 months and finally they are out. She now puts out her tongue if you ask her to.

Here she is playing the guitar just like her Papa. Whenever Sherwin is playing the guitar, we could see Sandy moving her fingers as well so we decided to let her touch it. She placed her fingers on top of the strings as if she really knows how to play. We were so amazed!

I know I keep on raving how chubby she is, but I can't get over it. Bochog na talaga ang baby namin!

Busy BEE

Sandy started taking solids today! She took it like a pro. It was so exciting and fun. She seem to like her lugaw and her silicone spoon hehe.
We don't have a high chair yet so we used her bouncer. I was so surprised to see her sit still while eating. She's so makulit kasi and you can never make her stay in one place. But today, she just sat there, looked at mommy and opened her mouth to eat her first solids. Yay! My baby's growing up!

We've also been trying to train her to sit on her own using pillows. I think she likes this new position even though she usually ends up with her face down. She has no problem rolling over now though.

We bought her a walker too since she wants to stand up all day. We just use a stopper so it wouldn't move. Here she is looking so busy trying to save the world. I still can't get over how chubby she is right now.

A very peaceful, almost angel-like Sandy. I hope she doesn't wake for a couple of hours so I can have my 'ME' time lol. Bad Mommy!

The day ate Gabby came to visit

Gabby, my favorite niece went to our house to play with Sandy. We experimented with Sandy's hair by using small clips from my Mom. She doesn't have much hair but I was able to gather a couple of strands. I love having Gabby over but it made me realize that I can't have a baby and a toddler at the same time.

It was a very interesting day. Gabby will shout and dance while Sandy is taking a nap. I tried telling her to keep it down but she's so excited to play with her cousin that she can't seem to stop.

We also bought a new carrier because Sandy's gotten too heavy to be carried all the time. Here are a couple of pictures of her in the carrier. I don't think she likes it very much but she managed to stay inside for 30 minutes so I guess that's a huge improvement.
