V-Day Planning

Having a perfect date is easy if you're well prepared. The most important thing aside from enjoying each other's company is that you also get your money's worth. This is why online restaurant guides are created. To help you choose the best spot to spend your money and be assured that every minute will be priceless. Having said that, if you're deciding on which New York Restaurants to go to this coming Valentine's day, I suggest you take a quick visit at Villagevoice.com's restaurant guide. Read through the restaurant reviews or do a search by cuisine, by location, by features (sidewalk dining, private party, vegetarian, etc) and most importat of all, by price. Personally, I frequent these online guides when I'm planning a big dinner date or trying to host a surprise party for a friend. I just want to make sure that a restaurant has great reviews before I book them.

She's a Geek

This is her doing her homework in her Lola's office.

When she was younger, I often worried about having to force her to study when it's time for her to go to school. But it looks like there's nothing to be worried about. She enjoys school a lot but her favorite thing to do is to write and draw. Even if she's in the park, she brings her travel aquadoodle with her and draw while the other kids are running around.

Second Month

I used to think about this month as lover's month. But since I got married, it has been replaced with "just like any other month". But don't get me wrong! It means that every day is Valentine's day in our family. NOT. We have ups and downs of course, but nothing that a great food couldn't fix.

And while I'm here, doing a personal update, let me just tell you that we found a lot where we can build our dream house! It's cheap, location is perfect and the size is just right. Which means no need to worry about where we will put all our junk. After seeing small condo units, cramped townhomes, we feel like this is the right way to go. I know it's too early and we're not even sure if we will get it, but it's nice to have something to look forward to you know?

So there you go. A great start this year and it's only February. ;)

Questions of the Week #46

1. Where do you keep your Pot of Gold?
Secret!

2. Do you get annoyed by people who are really proud of who they are?
If they have nothing to be proud of. Like being proud of something so shallow -being rich when you obviously got it from your parents and not from hard work, handsome, popular, famous etc.

3. How often growing up did you hear your parents say “I love you”?
Almost everyday. My mom is a great show off when it comes to feelings :D

4. Here comes TROUBLE! What do you see?
Storm and blackouts. I dread them every year. This would mean we’ll have to stay in a hotel and throw money. We can’t sleep without electricity.

5. What is your most prized possession?
Sandy and The Husband of course. Next would be my Dell Studio because all my work and photos are there.

6. What nickname/s did you hate the most in your childhood?
Matutina. It was the name of an actress who has this very annoying voice. They called me that because of how I talk, which is always on the top of my lungs.

7. What haven’t you done in a long time?
Swim on a beach and exercise.

8. What do you enjoy doing? Aside from blogging because we all know we love to blog.
Shopping, planning for a trip and drawing. In that order :D

9. When you’re reading, do you sometime have to reread a section because your mind wandered?
If the book sucks yes.

10. Have things broken in your life recently?
None that I know of.

Too Sexy

You Are Sexy!
You're hot, and everyone knows it. How could anyone who looks at you not know it?
You're physically attractive, no doubt. You're also quite smooth, witty, and charming.

You know how to flirt, and you enjoy all of the attention that you get.
You take care to look your best, but most of your sexiness comes from your confident attitude!
Saw this from Thea and couldn't help but snag it. :) I'm not exactly sure if the results are correct though. It could be that I was choosing the answers that I want to do. One thing's for sure, when someone has a crush on me, they forget about it the minute I open my mouth LOL.

Vacationing with Kids

imageWho says romantic beach escapades are just for newly married or child-free couples? I've been site hopping for travel destinations worldwide when I came across Azul Beach Hotel at the Riviera Maya. Based on the photos, it has that romantic, secluded feel every honeymooners wish for. The only difference is that you can bring your kids and still enjoy luxury and comfort. These Family Friendly Resorts offers extra amenities like strollers, cribs, beach games, coloring books to make your vacation truly stress-free. They cater to vacationing families by providing all kinds of activities for the adults, teenagers and kids. You can have a totally luxurious and comfortable vacation without worrying how long you will have to entertain your kids so they will not get bored. :)

Everything Zen

That's what I've been trying to do for the last couple of weeks. However, I don't think my mind is made up that way because I just couldn't seem to take it easy. I worry about the smallest things and on my downtime, I list things that I need to do on my head. I'm either holding my phone to jot down things or compute expenses or read a book. Maybe I should let go of all electronic devices so I'd have no choice but to meditate. And when I say meditate, I really meant sleeping.

I hope tomorrow is a different day.

Snoring Problems

For the longest time, I've been sleeping for 2 to 3 hrs a night because of breastfeeding. When I finally weaned Sandy, I thought I'd be able to sleep without problems. Boy was I wrong! Nothing has changed except the reason for my sleepless nights. This time, it's the husband's snoring that's keeping me wide awake. I tried to look for products here that could help him stop snoring but to no avail. Luckily I found allegromedical.com and saw several items such as the snore wizard, snoring treatment chin strap, anti-snoring pillow, and multi-mask sleep pillow. I want something that's comfortable too because who wants to wear a mask while sleeping? So I'm keeping my options to the chin strap (it's lightweight and supports the jaw comfortably) and the snore-no-more pillow (keeps the chin away from the chest and the airway open). Hopefully, one of these will work so I can get some decent sleep.
