Just sharing some photos from Sandy's recent field trip at Oceanpark. I loved the place even if it's too crowded for my taste. For the kids, they might get tired or bored because of the crowd. However, they will surely love the mermaid show and the almost magical appeal of the marine life.

Dreaming of Vacationing
To those who don't know yet, I am currently 3 months pregnant. This explains my lack of updates and why I am unbelievably stressed right now. If only I can have one of those cancun honeymoons that Karisma Hotels are known for. The massages on the beach, lying down on beach beds with retractable curtains for privacy, your choice of sumptuous dinners or as simple as watching the blue waves crash down on the white sandy beaches.
But even if I can't have a vacation now, there's no stopping me in daydreaming and wishing that someday I can experience one of the hotels in Karisma. I'm especially interested to see the Hidden Beach Resort at the Riviera Maya. It caters to nudists and is a secluded, adults-only property. Of course, I couldn't see myself baring it all which I'm sure already disqualifies me to an entrance. Still, I've never been an adults only hotel before and it could be really interesting.
Another hotel I'd like to try is the Azul Beach Resort. Since it caters to families, this is more the type that will benefit us. And just because it's a family-oriented resort doesn't mean it's not romantic. Aside from beach activities and amenities for kids, they offer dinner by candlelight by the beach for couples, luxurious massages, picnics, tequila tasting and non-motorized water sports.

Sandy's Wishlists
Little Einstein's Pat Pat Rocket from Amazon.com - getting expensive every week. Now at $79.95
Sweetheart Playhouse - $220 at amazon.
Her much beloved ABBA dolls - don't know where I can buy these. It's probably ridiculously expensive. The likeness is just amazing though.

Holiday Thank You Cards from Sandy
I've seen really nice Christmas thank you card designs at http://www.invitations-shoppe.com and planning to get a few myself. I'm not rushing though because they can print and ship the same day that I approve the proof. I know Sandy will receive tons of gifts (she does every year) so sending out thank you cards is the least I can do.

Everybody Needs a Friend
It's always a riot when her cousin Chloe is visiting. She's so happy and much more behaved. They fight and I know it's going to be worse if they're together 24/7 but still, I totally get what she's feeling when she has no one to play with but just us adults.

Getting Your Toddler to Listen
Get on her level. Either squat down to her level or pick her up so you can look her in the eye.
Be clear. State your message clearly and simply. Your child will zone out if you harp on topics too long.
Follow through - quickly. Don't make threats or promises you won't keep.
Reinforce your message - follow up your verbal statement with other kinds of messages. When you say "eat your lunch", show her you mean it by sitting on the table yourself or eating beside her.
Give warnings - before you try and take her away from a very enjoyable activity, let your kid know that you're leaving in a few minutes.
Realistic instructions .
Motivate.
Model good behavior.

Manic Monday #185
What word describes you best?
Just one word? How about three? Stubborn. Vain. Perfectionist.
Oh, are we not talking about negative traits?
What drives you every day.
Aside from my daughter and husband, my career. And my dream. To be very rich that I can tour the world, buy more than one dream house and go old without worrying about my kids' future.
Where do you want to retire?
55 perhaps? But I should be financially free that time. I don't want to be a burden to anyone.

Fun with Photo Invitations
Photo Invitations have always been a popular choice among parents when it comes to announcing the latest addition in the family. After all, nothing can be more beautiful as your newborn's first smile. Photo invites are not just limited to photo birth announcements alone. I've personally used photo birthday invitations before and loved how you can keep it as a memento of your child's first birthday celebration.
Looking at CardsShoppe, you'll see that a photo invitation can be used for a wide range of events. From your best friend's 30th birthday to baptism to wedding invitation and graduation announcements. I found a great idea from http://www.cardsshoppe.com about using an embarrassing or hilarious picture from the past and use it as a shower invite for a friend of mine who's tying the knot. Of course, she has good sense of humor so it will definitely work to her advantage. We can just personalize any of the unique designs available by modifying the colors, words and of course, adding one of her "fun" photos back in our wild days.

Sandy Potter or Sandy Granger?
Found some really cheap Harry Potter costumes online. I wasn't really planning on buying anything because come on, $45 for a one time costume? But to my luck, I found these Gryffindor robes for only $19.99! Too bad it's already the 2nd week of October. I wonder if I can still have this shipped?

Invest in Gold and Increase Your Wealth
Why should we invest on gold? That's one of the questions I always hear whenever precious metals enters a conversation. I used to be clueless too but that was before I learned about monex. If you're interested to buy gold in coin or ingot form, this site is your step to learning everything you need to know.
Monex (MCD) has been providing precious metals for over 40 years now via personal delivery or safe storage at a bank or depositor. They are America's gold, silver and precious metals investment leader so you'll know that you are dealing with the best and the safest.
But back to our original question, why gold?
1. Gold unlike paper does not wear out when passed from hand to hand
2. You can carry a small amount anywhere and this amount can purchase a surprising amount of goods and services.
3. It's your own protection against the fall or U.S. dollars
4. Offers you a solid, long-term and tangible way to protect your wealth.
5> Also applies to outstanding short-term trading vehicles.

Sandy Loves White Hat
Sandy tried White Hat last weekend.
I thought she wouldn't like it because she's not really crazy about yogurts. But to my surprise, she did. It helped that we ordered it with strawberry and cheesecake too.
I find it pricey at first but the yogurt was very good, unlike grocery-types I've tasted.
From their site:
Try our signature toppings like homemade Granola with almonds (exclusively available in our shops), or our scrumptious homemade cheesecake, or fresh strawberries and kiwi. Have as many toppings on your Hat or make your combo as fun or as crazy as you want, we definitely won't mind. as long as they're right for your taste buds.

Remember Summer With Picnic Invitations
I learned the hard way that people tend to cancel when the invite was made via text or email only. Which is why I always make sure to give out invites for every party that I host. Even if it's just Picnic Invitations, whoever it was that was lucky enough to be invited to our party always make an effort to attend. Nothing makes an event final than a carefully laid out invite.
Now that the holidays are just around the corner, family reunion invitations are now starting to arrive in our door step. Most are invitations picnic party but there's one that will require more formal clothes. I'm pretty excited just seeing the invites. It's been a while since I've seen my relatives and the holidays is always a good way to get re-acquainted with some of them.
If you to are planning for your next family reunion, check out Holiday-Invitations at http://www.holiday-invitations.com/. They have a wide selection of unique and exclusive designs for all events - 4th July picnic invites, St. Patrick's and even Oktberfest. It doesn't matter if it's just a couple of days away too because they can print and ship your order the same day you approve them.

10 Things You Want But Can't Afford
For Ten on Tuesday.
1. Macbook Pro - I've always wanted to buy one but budget is always not enough
2. iMac. Still waiting for 0% deals
3. A house of our own with porch and garden. Soon we'll have this, I just know it in my heart.
4. Travel to Europe. If I only knew, I would have asked my husband to just elope and not have a grand wedding 6 yrs ago. We could've just easily spent the money on a Europe tour.
5. Blackberry or iPhone
6. A pair of knee-high boots from Zara
7. A playhouse like this for Sandy
8. A new computer table complete with organizers and drawers.
9. Buffet at Circles for four.
10. A 3-hour full body treatment at The Spa

Beach Getaway for Everyone
I'm lining up all our vacation plans. Before Sandy turns 10 (she's only four now), I'd like to be able to visit Europe. And perhaps, we can also try the white sand beaches of Riviera Maya.
Any of the Karisma Hotels will do but since we're going on a family vacation, my husband just don't have the heart to leave our little one at home, I can say the Azul Beach resort will be perfect. According to their site, here are some of the reasons why you should stay there:
1. It's close to the airport, only about 20 minutes.
2. Everything is a short walk away from the resort - beach, pools, game room, bars, restaurants.
3. Great rooms for families. There are rooms that sleep 2 adults and three children plus there are also connecting rooms.
4. Lots of activities for kids - night pajama parties, kids' programs, balloon wars, beach games
5. Even if it caters to families and kids, you and your husband can enjoy some romantic time with each other. There are beachfront sky massages, candlelight dinners and jacuzzis.
I always find our previous travels stressful no matter how beautiful the beach was or how high-end the rooms and amenities were. But if all resorts can offer the same features that Azul does, I'm sure the number of happy vacationing families will increase tenfold.

Welcome October, Goodbye September
There are so many things lined up this month. But before all that, I'd like to say a quick prayer for all typhoon Ondoy victims. We are also feeling blessed that our house was spared. I learned from our helper that the flood water was also 5-6" deep outside our gate. We are indeed lucky that the flood didn't reach our village. My husband was away that time and I don't know what I would've done if something bad happens.
The victims still need help so if you can, please donate what you can via:

Ordering Baptism Invitations Online
I'm pretty excited about the baptism of my friend's baby. They've been waiting for their little princess for so long and now going all out for her. I'm so happy for them that I've volunteered to order and pay for their Baptism Invitations Cards. It's no big deal on my end really because these christening invitations from Announcements-Shoppe can be purchased online. You can even receive the proof via email within one hour of ordering during business day.
The more time I spend browsing through Religious invitations at http://www.announcements-shoppe.com, the more I like what they have to offer. I have my own share of ordering business cards and other printing materials online and it's not everyday that you can receive the prints the same day you approved it. So if it's efficient service and affordable prices you're looking for, I suggest you book mark this site for your future birthday invitations, baptism needs.

Sickie Birthday Girl
Again? Can you believe that? At least she managed to attend her birthday party at home last year and only missed the one in school and Hospicio. But now, it looks like she won't enjoy the whole weekend that I planned. It's not as important as her feeling better but still, it just doesn't seem fair that she gets sick whenever her birthday is near. I'd probably have ignored it if it's just the usual low-grade fever but it looks like we'll have to spend the next couple of days having her blood checked to rule out dengue fever.
Such a great birthday gift. :(

Shopping Day!
Wuhooooo. This is what I love about weekends. Shopping and eating out. Of course, we only shop when we have too so mostly we just look around for nice things that we can add on our things-to-buy list. However, I'm going to treat myself today with two pairs of shoes and will also be shopping for Sandy's birthday outfit. No window shopping this time for me :) I'm getting high already just by thinking about it. My little girl will need new shoes too and I hope I can find matching footwear for the both of us.
4th Birthday Coming Up
6 days to go and it's Sandy's 4th birthday. We have lined up so many activities for her including a birthday party in school. I'm not sure yet if we'll get a tae out party from McDo or Jollibee. I guess it will depend on the packages/freebies and which mascot Sandy would like to see on her party. She's all for Jollibee now after missing her last year's party (she was in the hospital then) but I'd like to show her the Hello Kitty happy meal toys first before she make any decisions.

Medical Drugs
If you search for Medical Marijuana Colorado, you'll stumble upon articles on how marijuana has been legal in Colorado since 2000. There's a lot of issues surrounding medical marijuana so I'll just list here the reasons why there's a need for it. Well, according to medicalmarijuanagroup.com website, that is.
- It alleviates certain debilitating medical conditions - AIDS, Glaucoma, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy
- Relief from nausea and increase of appetite
- Reduce persistent muscle spasms
- Relief from chronic pain
According to the website, a patient or a primary caregiver must not possess more than two ounces of a usable form of marijuana and not more than six marijuana plants.

Linggo ng Wika
Pardon the late post. Just want to share some photos of Sandy during their school's Linggo ng Wika program. She was asked to recite a poem about a butterfly. She did it without delay but she was a bit upset because she didn't like the look of one of the fathers there. This explains her facial expression below and why she refused to dance on their next group number.
Her Papa just laughed when he learned about what happened. Which is bad of him really, because Sandy might think that it's okay not to participate just because she's upset. I don't mind her skipping but I just don't want her to get use to giving up without trying at all.

Friday Fill-Ins #140
1. I feel so rejuvenated and alert after running in the treadmill for 15 minutes straight.
2. Talking to my daughter and hearing her ridiculous stories is always fun.
3. Right now, I can hear these things: Annie talking from Dibo the Gift Dragon and the sound of crayons falling because Sandy just dropper her art tray.
4. It’s Friday and I'm glad that I'm 90% done with my design projects.
5. The last time I ate in a restaurant alone was one year ago.
6. We have no plans this Labor day weekend.7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to logging off early, tomorrow my plans include shopping and eating our and Sunday, I want to have a full body massage.

Organizing Kids Closets
Hanging Stuff
First, employ a two-rod system. The lower rod allows small arms to reach shirts or jackets; the upper one holds next season's clothes. Since kids have very little to hang up, the closet requires short rods only. To hang lower rod, cut two pieces of strap webbing (each twice the length plus overlap). Wrap both straps over top rod, overlap ends on the bottom, and staple-gun through all the layers.
To achieve an extra-neat appearance, use a single style of hanger (we chose inexpensive plastic) in just one or two colors.
Shelf Storage
Bookshelves provide at-a-glance storage for pants, sweaters, and T-shirts. Stack sweaters, pants, and T-shirts on their own shelves so your child can find what he's looking for without rifling through every piece of clothing in a drawer. Use the bottom cubby to keep the backpack out from underfoot.
Peg Board
And what to do with belts and skateboarding helmets? Use a peg board to hang them neatly on the wall, where they'll be in clear sight. With a variety of hooks and a few well-chosen containers, you can help things find their way back home, ready to go for the next day.
Paint peg board a bright color to add a splash of energy to the inside of the closet. Affix it to the back wall of the closet with mounting hardware, and use simple hooks to dangle all manner of paraphernalia. Set the bookshelves in front of it and anchor to the wall.
Step
A two-drawer cube provides ample storage for socks and undies. Plus kids can reach high-up things all by themselves.
Mirror
A useful and lightweight plastic mirror can be cut to any size; ours covers the side of the book-shelves above the cube. Attach easily and securely with heavy-duty double-sided mounting tape.
Sock Drawer
In the brightly painted drawer interior, baskets intended for kitchen cutlery keep socks in tidy rows. A small jar made for peg boards corrals ponytail bands. A ribbon with a loop for hanging displays hair clips so they're ready at a moment's notice.
Tomorrow's Outfit
Install a hook on the inside of the closet door and reserve it for one thing only: the next day's clothes. Your child can pick them out before bed each night.

on your abilities, your dreams, and a brighter tomorrow.

10 Tips for a Happier Life
1. Don’t worry
Worry is the least productive of all human activities and thoughts….
2. Don’t let needless fears preoccupy your life…
Most of things we fear never happen!!!
3. Don’t hold grudges…
That is one of the biggest and most unnecessary weights we carry through our lives...
4. Take on one problem at a time
It’s the only way to handle things anyway..one by one..
5. Don’t take your problems to bed with you.
They are bad and unhealthy companions for good natural sleep and rest…
6. Don’t take on the problems of other people..
They are better equipped to handle their own problems than you are..
7. Don’t live in the past.
It will always be there in your memories to enjoy..but don’t cling to it. Concentrate on what is happening right now in your life..and you will be happy in the present also..not just the past.
8. Be a good listener.
It is only when one listens..that one gets and learns ideas different from ones own…
9. Do not let frustration ruin and rule your life…
Self pity more than anything..interferes with positive actions..with moving forwards in our lives.
Don’t even forget the smallest blessings.. As many small blessings add up to large ones…

Gaudy
Holsted Jewelers is a nice site for designer costume jewelry. You should check it out.
Tips on Trimming Down Your Grocery Bill.
1. Buy in bulk
Buying grains, cereals, dried beans, nuts, and seeds in bulk can save you a whole lot of cash.
2. Clear out your freezer
Look for bargain buys. If you find a great deal on meat, for example, buy a bunch of chicken breasts (make sure they haven’t passed the “sell-by” date) and either freeze in the original packaging or rewrap and seal.
3. Go whole. Yes, instead of buying rice by the kilo, why not go for the sacked 10, 25 or 50 kilo.

Women and Health
WW #58: Hypotheticals Round Two
1.) If you had to either shop for your groceries in your underwear only (bra&panties or boxers/briefs/whatever) or run streaking through the mall totally naked for no less than 4 minutes, which will you pick?
Do groceries in my underwear.
2.) You're having dinner at the inlaws (your boyfriend/girlfriend's parents if not married) and the food is so awful you would rather eat the table cloth. Your mother in law (bf/gf mother) calls you out and asks if there is anything wrong with the food. You can't say you're "just not that hungry" because you had earlier claimed to be "starving" so now, how do you respond to her?
Tell her that I'm not feeling well. All the food isnt agreeing with my tummy,
3.) In the middle of foreplay, your partner asks if you want to try something new. You ask what it is. They want to stick some kind of frozen fruit or vegetable up your anus. How open to trying this are you?
WTF! No way!
4.) Would you rather have to walk 30 feet over burning hot coals or walk 70 feet over broken shards of glass? Why?
30 feet of burning hot coals. I know Id never even go way past two feet because my feet will get burned.
5.) Would you rather have to have sex with your partner with a room full of your former highschool classmates watching or have sex with your partener in a room full with a mix of each of your former exes watching?
Neither. Ewww.

Monday Music Mambo
This is a tough one but I'd go with three: Ben, She's Out of My Life and The Way You Make Me Feel.
Someday Id have the time to watch all his videos and even see the MJ memorial. I think I'm the only one who hasn't watched it.

Three things
1. We need to get a new house, that's the first one.
2. But we're still waiting to get that perfect lot for it. We found a few contenders but there's always a problem with it. Either too far or too expensive.
3. Most importantly, we need to raise the money for ALL of it.

"I Want...." Wednesday #40
What do you want to do for the 4th?
We really do not celebrate the 4th of July as we have our Independence Day but I always try and get a great deal on these 4th of July sales! I love online shopping! The deals are just unbelievable that it feels wrong not to take advantage. :)

Tuesday's Tip Jar
[1] Movie Matinees
When we went to see the latest release it was always in the early afternoon when the prices were discounted. Each child was given a limit as to what they could spend on snacks. While I know bringing food into the theater was frowned upon, I often did it. I had a special purse that was large enough to hold candy, cookies and sippy cups. The kids would get excited when they saw that bag on the kitchen counter because they knew it was movie day.
[2] Make Your Own Water Park
Kids are the best at having fun with a water hose and a piece of plastic. A slippy slide isn't expensive but it's small and when you have multiple children all wanting to use it at once, it can become a fight to the finish as to who gets to slide first or more often.
[3] Search the Internet for Local Fairs and Festivals
Children love to explore, so going to a local event is the prefect place for that. I used the buddy system when taking the children to fairs and street festivals. They were to always be together, no matter what. Mostly until they were in their mid teens they had to be within my view but the buddy system worked well for me at all age levels.
These are cheap too, if I might add.

Best Thing
I had a great weekend because I officially turned 25 (and from there will stop counting years, FYI) and had a great and hearty lunch with my family. I was also able to go to a museum, something that I have been wanting to go to ever since. Good food, great company, nice place = great weekend.

Remembering Wedding Favors
Browsing through The Knot website is currently on top of my list of things to do when I'm feeling stressed. Looking at beautiful wedding gowns, flower arrangement, destination wedding ideas and unique personalized wedding favors reminds me so much of my wedding that I instantly forget my work woes. Every year, wedding favors just keep getting better. I wish I'm getting married again so I can use some of the ideas. But since I am already married, I always make sure to bug every single friend of mine to let me help with their wedding. This includes printing wedding ideas, bridal gown photos, sending multiple emails on what's in and out on wedding ceremonies and basically re-live the preparations through them.
The first photo is similar to what we gave on our wedding while the second was from a friend who got married after us.
Since then, I've seen flip flops, personalized chocolate bars, tote bags, flask and even a matchbox doll. There were also card holders that looked like beach chairs, carriage styled boxes and a mini-playhouse where ants can live happily ever after.

Ms. Blair Waldorf
Sandy loves Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl a lot so when she saw this picture, she immediately said, "Mommy, I look like Blair because our headbands match". She then started drawing Blair and Serena with matching dresses, earrings and stilettos. I will have to take photos of her drawings because she just gets better at it everyday. In fact, she rarely plays anymore. She just draws from morning till lunch, take a break and a nap, then draw again until nighttime.

Too Much Time
... in my hands today. But I've slaved away for so long in the last four years so I'm taking a break and not worry about finding projects yet. To prove how carefree I plan to be today, here's my to-do list:
- Watch Gossip Girl Season 2, episode 19-24 online
- Download movies that I've been dying to see and want to see again
- Read ebooks while lying down on the bed with Sandy
- Don't open my emails.
- Visit Facebook, Twit all day and order a double cheeseburger from McDonalds.

Tagaytay Highlands Outing with the MBAPs Part II
After the game, we all went to the pool area to have lunch. I admit it was pretty expensive but since we all paid for it in installment, it didn't hurt our pockets at all. The food was great but I failed to try all of them because, as always, I was talking nonstop again.
After lunch, the kids went swimming while the mommies started with what they're good at - having a photo shoot while chatting. It was really hot but we had an amazing time. We planned to try almost all the activities that Highlands has to offer but one whole day is just not enough! Read the full story here.
More photos from the outing.

Tagaytay Highlands Outing with the MBAPs
There are so many things that happened so I'm just gonna do my best to summarize it. First, if you're not familiar with the term MBAPs, it means Mommy Bloggers Association of the Philippines. It's not really official, I'm sure there are plenty of groups for mommy bloggers out there. Our founder, the B!tch Goddess, came up with the name while she was high on sugar and the name stuck to our little group since then.
So back to our summer getaway, we started the event with a basketball tournament for the daddies. It was a perfect idea because they all bonded after the game. While they were playing, the mommies were either taking photos/videos, chatting with each other and looking after the kids.
The Dads after the basketball.
... to be continued.

Little Misses
Still, if ever our next baby will be a boy, I'd be more than happy to dress him up in cute little capri pants and checkered polo shirts. Plus I'm really hoping for a boy (two years from now!) so the husband will have someone to play ball with. :)
Disney Playhouse - Lifesaver
Little Einsteins
Higgly Town Heroes
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Imagination Movers, Hi5, Tigger and Pooh, Handy Manny, Dibbo the Gift Dragon
Don't forget. Talk to them while they are watching. Ask questions and mimic whatever the character is doing. Interaction is the key. Which is why the above TV shows work. They ask questions, teach good manners and solve problems with the viewers so the kids won't have to just stare at the TV set.

Girl's Bestfriend
Let me share with you my favorite jewelry shop, Holsted Jewelers. They have an amazing collection of all kinds of jewelry from designer inspired to total looks, to personalized to vintage, to bridal gifts and many more. Their diamonds may not be real but the designs are exquisite it's like wearing the real thing.
Cocktail rings are the rage these days and here are the ones that I'm putting on my wishlist.
I am also loving these cheap but very fab charms for bracelets or necklaces.
Lastly, some more items that caught my eye under the Vintage Look category.
Holsted Jewelers have been providing exclusively designed jewelries, gifts and accessories since 1971. If you are shopping for gifts or treating yourself, their affordable jewelry is enough to make someone smile today.
